Endless Journey by =uildrim is mesmerizing yet seemingly simple and amazingly detailed. The color scheme is very striking -- bold and bright. It's really a stunningly gorgeous image. (

I want to write a critique for this, though I warn you, you're a better artist than I am, so this is purely from teh stand point of an art appreciator.
It is supposed to be a Christmas card? I can see that now, but at first, I didn't recognize that. This can be a good or a bad thing, for cards, sometimes you want to give something that isn't blatantly Christmas or Christian in theme, because there are a lot of people out there who celebrate but aren't really Christians, and this card is good for that, and it is also pretty open ended so it can be seen as a nice picture too. I for one like it that way, but I can see how it not being clear that it is Christmas themed, it might not get the kind of attention and use you intend for it.
The color scheme is great. especially with the spot of gold in it, very symbolic and effective, but I have to say that the feet threw me off, they don't really look like bare feet until I full view, and that is because of the color you used, there is too much red in them I think, not pale enough, skin doesn't really have that color in the night...they ought to be paler and to match the tones you are using for that par of the image, more blue. That is my opinion.
You did a wonderful job on all the details and the simple composition is very effective here. I particularly like the addition of the little critter that is with her, it really adds to the cuteness factor while also keeping the eye on the page. With her moving so directly, the eye would easily follow her path right off the picture if not for that little guy bringing the eye back around and to her again.
Great job with the hair, the clothes, the patterns and the snow even has delightful detail in it. Over all, it deserves the dd and all the attention it can get. ^_^
Years ago when first time I've heard the song of Clannad named "A Dream In The Night" for the fairytale The Angel & The Soldier Boy - the colors, lights and feelings of that "musical painting" settled to my mind.
What amazes me here I'm seeing those colors, feeling that mood when I'm looking to this brilliant piece of art. Honestly it's the first time in my life an artwork I saw on dA spoke to me. I can clearly imagine where her journey started and where it will end. I can see her little town - her room where walls full of fairy tales told by her grandmother. Here she stands in the bedazzling eternity in winter with fire and snow. Where all the endless tales begin.
And for the first time in my life - I don't want to write anything technical here. Just want to listen to the story of the art itself telling me.
Sing the lullaby, tell the traveler's tales, walk to the eternity...
Wow, something that looks so simple, filled to the brim with quality and care. Everything here, the fur, clothes, snow, hair and wax is all treated with the same care and attention, creating a gorgeous image. Magnificent work Uildrim, easily one of your best.
"it means that even if it is cold, lonely, hard to go and you can't see the way you must keep going.. or die.. life is not for those who are weak, but for those who belive.." nicely said!!! Did you ever try to walk with a candle?? its really hard xD love the colors and the details of the hair
hey this might sound a bit weird, but i love this artwork and i am currently doing an assignment about journeys in which i must talk about how 4 different texts relate to a journey and how they portray one etc. and i would like to use this picture as my visual text, if that's cool with you?
I wanted to let you know that the instant I saw your art (this image was the first I saw) I was blown away by the beauty of the work and the talent of the artist (obviously YOU!). I searched like mad until I found you here on DA. Imagine my delight when I saw that this very image, which I had fallen in love with immediately, was available for download. I hope you are honoured to know that you are the wallpaper on my phone and hopefully soon my desktop. THANK YOU!
